Single Life Stuff // The Best Walks in Sydney

I love exploring my backyard. It’s huge. It has some of the best walks around, from beaches to mountains and everything in between. I realise you don’t need yet another list of walks to do in Sydney but these are ones I’ve actually done (pics to prove it!) and I recommend if you are looking for something to do over the weekend.

Enjoy. xx

My Numero Uno.

Route Name: Sirius Cover to Chowder Bay.

Time: They say 1-2 hours. That’s about right depending on how far you choose to go along the path.

Kicking off at one of Sydney’s hidden gems, Sirius Cove is a part dog park, part quaint city beach. The path is very clear, taking you past Taronga Zoo and along the foreshore to Bradley’s head. Winding up through the bushland you’ll want to make sure your phone is charged for all the epic photos of the gorgeous harbour.

Hot tip: Just as you come past Taronga Zoo near Whiting Beach from Sirius Cove, you’ll see two paths to your right. Go down both of them. One takes you to the site of an old Art Colony called Curlew Camp and the other will take you to one of the best points for an amazing panoramic view of the harbour.

Can’t Beat The Classics.

Route Name: Cremorne Point Walk.

Time: They say 1 hour 30 minutes. And I would agree with that. Unless you stop to lap up the view.

Classic Cremorne Point. It’s an oldy but a goody and for good reason. This beautiful track is paved and ideal for a stroll with a friend with a coffee in hand. It’s about a 3km round trip with plenty of benches and patches of grass to pull up on and stare at the amazing water views and dream about what life would be like if you ever got the chance to live in one those amazing houses.

Hot tip: For great coffee, amazing food and wonderful customer service, begin your walk at Monsterra at Mosman Bay Wharf. You won’t regret it!

Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls…Unless It’s These Ones.

Route Name: Secluded Pools On The Nature Track (Blue Mountains).

Time: They say allow 1 hour 45 minutes, I say allow 3 hours so you actually have time to stop and enjoy it.

OK, so some of you will think I’m pushing it by saying this track is in Sydney. But I consider anything this side of Katoomba as falling into that category and it’s my list, so it’s my rules. Plus, it’s an AMAZING walk so I know you’ll be thanking me for mentioning it. Leave from Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls. Make sure you’ve got good shoes on and that you like really long walks and stairs.

Hot Tip: Take a map of some sort because you’re going to want to know when you get to Lillian’s Glen. Hang a right up stream and climb the rocks and you’ll find yourself in one of the most zen places on earth, Asmodeus Pool. (picture below)

Don’t Get Lost…(but like for reals).

Route Name: The Grand Canyon Walk (Blue Mountains).

Time: They say 3-4 hours, I say 5-7 if you allow for breaks and lunch. Which you should.

In keeping with me breaking my own rules, here is another walk worth the trek to the mountains. It’ll take you about 3-4 hours depending on how many times you stop but it’s hidden crevices and giant log bridges make this walk one of the best. Again, a map will serve you well because there are a lot of cute side tracks to wander down. And if you fancy a sing-a-long, the acoustics are amazing.

Hot Tip: Take a packed lunch and take your time. This walk is worth stopping and taking it all in. Finish your walk by grabbing a hot chocolate from one of the local cafes in Blackheath.

Perfect Serenity.

Route Name: Narrabeen Lagoon Walk.

Time: They say 2-3 hours. I say yep.

Swinging the focus back to Sydney, Narrabeen Lagoon Walk is such a great walk if you want something easy, beautiful, part nature walk, part paved path. Perfect for a bike ride too! Highly recommend.

Hot Tip: Go on the walk.

So that’s it for now. The important thing to do is to get and actually do it. Because it’s one of those things that make being single fun!
